Black Friday and Cyber Monday at Bray Solutions

In recent years, Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become two of the busiest dates on the calendar for many retailers, and in turn for 3PL’s who deliver on those bargain deals. Not only that, research estimated Brits would spend £275 each on average this year, proving just how financially lucrative this period has become.

The two dates over the years have become more similar, as originally Back Friday was for great deals in the retail shops, whilst Cyber Monday focused on online sales for the smaller items. However, since COVID-19 hit in 2020, many retailers were forced to move their Black Friday sales online, and with the continuing echo effect of the pandemic, i.e. social distancing measures, many buyers are choosing to continue purchasing online in 2021.

So what effect did that have on Bray Solutions?

Black Friday at Bray Solutions

As you might have been able to guess, this year’s Black Friday weekend was one of Bray’s busiest to date. The team managed to process a staggering 5,554 orders across the two sites over the weekend alone, beating last year’s total by 879. This consisted of a very impressive 48,099 picks within the orders, which was an outstanding achievement.

Last year’s overwhelming switch to online purchases in response to the COVID-19 restrictions meant the team prepared to receive a more significant increase in orders than the previous year. However, this year, with restrictions lifted and in-store shopping able to resume, there was still an air of uncertainty, as it was hard to estimate just how many orders would be received by the team.

Flowing with the Orders

Helpfully, many of Bray’s customers started offering pre-Black Friday deals at the beginning of the week this year, which meant the team began to see the number of orders being produced early on and determined that the weekend was going to be a busy one. As a result, the team was able to mobilise quickly, and orders were processed without delay.

Moving Forward into 2022

Throughout the year, Bray Solutions has seen a large amount of growth, with our existing customers and new clientele coming on board. This meant that the business expanded the warehouse storage allocation by 10,000ft to accommodate the extra stock.

This became one of the main reasons the team could pick over double the number of items than last year. By having the capacity to store, Bray could meet demand. Moving forward, this has left the team prepared to face future Black Fridays at Bray, as well as the incoming Christmas season.

This doesn’t seem to be a trend that is slowing down, and the team is excited to deliver when needed. So get in touch to discuss your holiday sales needs with us today!
