Black Friday weekend
& the Christmas rush in Operations
Black Friday weekend is one of the busiest times here at Bray Solutions, and last year it did not disappoint. We processed 3795 orders across our two sites over the weekend alone, beating 2018’s sales by 1832 orders, a substantial amount. As we are approaching Black Friday 2020, it is hard to know what to predict. This year has been far from normal, and we are looking at a new way of shopping for 2020.
Due to the goings-on of the year so far and the second lockdown in full swing, understandably ordering online is the only way to get your Black Friday deals this year. This is great for the e-commerce market and in turn, Bray Solutions. Black Friday 2020 is shaping up to be a very heavy online sale weekend, with the first lockdown proving to everyone that having an e-commerce presence online is essential for future sales.
With sales now starting at the start of November and running for the whole month, we have seen a considerable rise in orders here at Bray. Our customers are holding sales the entire month; the orders are already increasing and set to get even busier for the official weekend. Our operations team are busy getting ready and prepared for black Friday by increasing staff were needed as well as performing extra cyclical counts on stock. With this, they are also setting up additional packing benches for the weekend as well as many other systems put in place ready. Whatever Black Friday weekend throws at us in 2020 we shall be prepared.
Although Black Friday is a big weekend, we are already busy with Christmas prep, orders have increased across all our Operation 3PL warehouses as well as our DC and Contact Packing departments. We are working extended hours to process the orders and make sure our customers; customers get their orders on time. We are busy preparing as a lot of our customers choose this time to perform stock takes as well as during their closed down period between Christmas and New year. This period is a very busy one for our Operations team picking and packing orders as well as our logistics team who process the orders.
After the Black Friday weekend sales, the orders won’t go back to normal as all the Christmas orders will come through to ensure the products are with the customers by Christmas Eve. This is more apparent in 2020 due to the year we have had, people are choosing to shop online instead of in the shops. This continues through the whole month of December with next day delivery available up until the 23rd December. Our operations team are very well practised by now and have shift strategies in place for if earlier or late working hours are needed.
Bray Solutions is prepared for Back Friday weekend and the Christmas rush of 2020 whatever it throws at us.
