Who are the Stock Team?
Our Goods in and Stock Control department are at the forefront of our business. Therefore, the processes need to be 100% correct from start to finish to ensure the stock can be placed into racking locations with the correct quantities and later picked by the warehouse team. If the stock locations are incorrect, this will cause issues for the pickers and delay orders being shipped.
The Stock team unload daily, check and book in the stock from deliveries onto our system. It is important they do this from start to finish to ensure the stock is counted, located and checked onto the system correctly ensuring the stock matches precisely. Locating the goods into racking locations ensures the picking function is efficient and orders are picked, packed and distributed as soon as possible.
Our Stock Team deal with all the customer returns we receive here at Bray Solutions, checking them in, looking to see if they are ok to go back into stock and onto the system to be resold or if not put into quarantine and the customers are informed with pictures of the faults and why these cannot be returned to stock. Our Stock Control Manager Greg advised we average between 80-90 returns processed a week.
Here at Bray Solutions, we try to ensure all stock is in the best possible locations for the efficiency of the warehouse picking orders and keeping up our 99.98% pick accuracy. The stock team are responsible for replenishing the stock and moving the stock locations where necessary, processing the stock movement sheets and ensuring the physical stock matches the system. If this is not updated ASAP, an order could be processed with the wrong location on the pick sheet causing issues for the warehouse team and elongating the picking function.
Stock takes & Cycle counts
The Stock Team are responsible for carrying out stock takes for our customers yearly, as well as performing cycle counts through the rest of the year to ensure stock is in the right location and the right quantity. This is vital to make sure everything is on our system correctly and for our customer to keep an exact and accurate account for their stock quantities. Here at Bray we aim for a 100% Stock Accuracy at stock takes for all our customers.
As well as all of the main above duties, the stock team are also the first point of call for all customers with stock queries through email and phone calls. The stock team work very hard to ensure all questions are answered as quickly as possible. We understand the importance of knowing all the information you require about your stock and we try our utmost to ensure all the information you receive in our daily reports is 100% accurate.
In a few cases the stock team have been known to do the occasional rework of items, this stems from before we had the contract packing department and if the quantity is a low amount the stock team are able to perform the rework without it having to go to the contract packing team. This includes re-labelling and the occasional rework of items for one of our customers.
